Denman Will Not Run In 2010 National States Trainer
Paul Nicholls has thrown cold water on any thoughts of former Gold Cup winner Denman lining up in the Grand National 2010.
In his regular Racing Post column last Saturday the Champion Trainer fielded questions from the general public and was asked how high on Denman’s agenda was the Grand National? Nicholls replied:
“It’s not on the agenda at all this season”
This statement obviously hasn’t filtered through to the bookmakers or perhaps they feel there is a good chance that connections could change their mind if current plans don’t go well. Denman remains the 20/1 joint-favourite for the Grand National with Stan James and Paddy Power.
Do you think we will ever see Denman over the Grand National fences? Let us know what you think?

What a surprise. I told you what I thought. Just for the record I thought National would have suited him and he had every chance of doing what Golden Miller did in the thirties.

would be great for the sport if Denman was to have a go in the national. I think the Irish national could be a possibility next year though

indeedy dudey!
Denman is legend!
Surely will only win the national in our racing dreams… Just as I am convinced this machine was built to win the national it is by its brilliance taken out of the equation.
