Grand National 2009: Tipster Competition
April 4th, 2008Do you know who will win the 2009 Grand National?
Following a suggestion on one of the threads on this blog, we would like to let everyone know that we will be running a £100 tipster competition for the 2009 Grand National. Full details will follow next week but it will involve registering your selections for the race at various stages throughout the year – possibly in May, December, February and just before the race.
Complete details of entries requirements, dates and prizes will be available on this site in the near future so keep checking back for information on how to register.
We Never Close!
I plan to be posting throughout the year on all topics Grand National related and it would be great it if as many of the users would stick around as possible as we really appreciate your thoughts and contributions.

Nice to see so many fans of trends and stats like me - you really can beat the bookies if your do your homework!

Systems Man Derby info would be great - I have a good knowledge with my family background of the jumps, but the flat esp the super short Derby has always left me cold - maybe you can rekindle that Derby interest for me.

Please keep this site open for the Derby please and I will try with others to give everyone the winner if I can.
Derby advise No 1.
1. Look at the fist four in the betting late May (but dont exclude any good trend horse).
2. One + look for a horse that has won at at least 1m.2f (1mile min).
3. Won last race.
More later.
2009 GN - I will not back any horse even Comply Or Die unless he fits the trends in 2009 and with over 11.02 I doubt he will. Its very hard to commit even for an early pre weights anti post bet until the entries are known.
We can warm up with some good trend races like the Derby, Scottish National, Hennessay (Newbury), King George, Welsh National etc (I think you get the idea)

Great idea systems man - great to finally find some other kindred spirits… beyond the derby lets get looking at the 2008 st leger its just as good a trends race as the grand national .. believe me … my two main projects each year are the national and the leger and theres some decent money to be made on both …. first candidate for next years national — hear the echo - won the irish nat in a canter and should get in with less than 11st ….keep a close eye on it….
