  1. Seven Towers says:

Bit harsh on Seeyouatmidnight NP. Don’t forget that after beating Bristol De Mai in their match Brian Hughes urged Sandy Thomson to send him to the Grade 1 Betfair. Now, given that Brian Hughes has never ever ridden a Grade 1 winner, I’m not sure he was the best placed person to make that call.

  2. Corbiere says:

Bit miffed, computer has been off last few days, so haven’t been able to take part in discussions.
Lost my original AP bet Mysteree which I was very confident about.
    My six against the field
    Premier Bond
    Alvarado
    Blakemount
    Vintage Clouds
    Dancing Shadow
    Detroit City (small win only)

  3. Pollyowls says:

My selections are Vicente, Battle of Shiloh & Alvarado.. good luck to all

  4. galileo says:

    Hi gang,
A lot of fancied horses are going pink on ODDSCHECKER,
Just gone for one against the field,DAWSON CITY,

    Best of luck everybody…..

  5. Seven Towers says:

As well as Missed Approach I am joking you with Benbens Showlad. If he is spot on he is very well handicapped. My other two will be Alvarado and Al Co.

  6. Jackie says:

    My 4 are

    Sugar Brown
    Dawson city
    Dancing Shadow
    Straidnahanna

    Good luck team :)

  7. Seven Towers says:

Not sure where joking came from! It was meant to say going with!

  8. mike campo says:

    Southfield Royale 16/1 AP
Another Hero 18/1 EW 5 places

    Good Luck Team

  9. kj says:

Without a clue ‘not a bloody clue’ as Sir Alan would say ;) unlike last wk when my internet puter was down and out, woulda put up 1st and 2nd …. kjs outsider last min tips are Portrait King on form and beyond hope form Flyer ;) adding to that Battle of Shiloh and Vicentes return.
A few in first time headgear Another Hero who knows could do pop up. Good luck betters!

  10. kj says:

I would of had to back Kruz and Al ofcourse ;) fall looked bad at the first!

  11. Mike N says:

wd winners. now that was an annoying result. lol

  12. Pollyowls says:

Nice one Vicente… shame he couldn’t do that 2 weeks ago!!

  13. marko says:

Get in Vicente , WD vicente backers

  14. Jackie says:

Well done winners, such a shame for GN, not on him this time :(

  15. Seven Towers says:

What did you think of the ride on Benbens Showlad. Bit annoying he wasn’t ridden closer to the pace.

  16. National Punter says:

Not again, thought I had a winner in cogry, but get my hatrick of second places, may have to edit my name to national placer :)
Benbens was a good shout show lad and others 66/1!
Watched him come back from way off the pace, if 2 more fences that’s were passed stood, it would have had had a great chance.
Backed Vicente in the GN and swerved to my cost without a saver.

    Well done winners

  17. moreen says:

Pleased for Mr Hemmings, although I didn’t back Vicente this time.

  18. kj says:

Don’t tell me you didn’t pick him Mike! how!?
the most annoying win would’ve been Cogry for me, jumping puts you off but was going well despite a few bad ones, half the field jumped poorly. I was cheering Alvarado for a long way! then old Benbens the other nearly horse appeared, I woulda been on the winner and 4th from 6 picks ;) had the last dual winner here too, well I would not sure six bets would of given me a profit but hey.

  19. Showlad says:

    WD winners.

    1st and 3rd ;)

  20. kj says:

Did no GN backers back Vicente here!?
Bad luck NP backing Cogry too, ouch. I like to do that kind of bet backing the GN winner in the GC or similar ;)

  21. Seven Towers says:

The Presenting’s didn’t get home again! And the horse with Strong Gale to the fore didn’t get home either. Boring but true.

  22. Mike N says:

I didn’t pick him KJ because I never back National horses in this. Was tempted though. ;)

  23. National Punter says:

Well done show lad, nice return.
Was the closest of the three nationals, always a bad move to think you’ve won, done that with black lion & cogry now!
Backed thunder & roses gn & IN – placed
Backed Vicente GN but deserted today, to be fair the low odds made me think it was bad value, well done to anyone who backed it in both nationals as on that performance he could of gone well at aintree

  24. Corbiere says:

Ditto deserted Vicente, after backing in GN, but thought he was high enough in weights.
Only 4th for me with the ever reliable Alvarado.
    Well done winners !
Next year’s GN going to be very very tasty !

  25. Corbiere says:

Anybody know what came 5th as I backed mine at Stanley, who pay 5 places ?

  26. kj says:

Yep can’t back’em all,.. I don’t like to back SN horses in the GN ;) plus yes can see short odds, more weight, a fall might put you off, when there are others, but horses for courses!!
like to think if I was playing with money in this one today, I wouldn’t have had 6! doubt I woulda thrown money at Kruz who doesn’t stay, I knew that but when you back a horse a few times dah….held early hopes would have a national in him .. but nope.
Cogry staying standing is the danger and so it proved, my computer was really not giving a good picture everytime they jumped fences, so many were jumping through them getting their timing wrong weren’t they? personally I will not be focusing on this lot for the GN.

  27. Pollyowls says:

    Corbs
    Lessons In Milan was 5th..
No news yet on Arpege d’Alene

  28. Pollyowls says:

Time was 8 mins 5.5 secs… some 19 seconds faster than last year.
Interestingly Vicente & Alvarado have run almost exactly to last year’s race, even though Alvarado was 6lbs better off…
