Grand National winning trainer David Pipe lost his big race jockey this afternoon when Tom Scudamore was injured from a fall on The Giant Bolster in the Mildmay Novices Chase. Scudamore dislocated his shoulder in the fall leaving Pipe scrambling for a jockey for his Grand National hope, Or Noir De Somoza.
Luckily for Pipe Barry Geraghty was on the sidelines following the earlier defection of Northern Alliance and will now deputise for Scudamore on Or Noir De Somoza. Geraghty has a great record in the Grand National and should provide excellent cover for the unfortunate Scudamore.
In other news bookmaker Victor Chandler have extended their place terms to each-way one quarter the odds 1-2-3-4-5-6 places.
This looks an excellent concession and a must for all each-way punters to consider.
